Soon after Peter Love was appointed Ontario’s first Chief Energy Conservation Officer in 2005, it became clear that there was value in recognizing the superior efforts to conserve electricity and promote a “culture of conservation”. ECO, along with Peter Love, developed and established a “Certificate of Recognition” program to celebrate the special efforts being made in all corners of Ontario.

These certificates provide tangible proof of success and often provide a focus for the media coverage of an event or occasion. As the program gained popularity, a nomination process was developed, and now nearly 200 Certificates have been awarded to deserving businesses, institutions, organizations and individuals.
