John Jeza – Senior Consultant
Energy Marketing and Aboriginal Liaison
John Jeza has held leadership roles in business development, energy, and conservation. He is recognized for his business acumen and extensive knowledge of the energy and conservation industry. John also has demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective and engaging marketing programs. He has been at the helm of innovative energy and conservation initiatives – locally and provincially – in areas including research, design, delivery and promotion.
John has extensive experience working with First Nation Elders, Métis Senators, First Nation and Métis leadership at the community and provincial level, as well as community champions. This work included designing conservation programs which engage entire communities who – with the support of effective business processes – guide local program implementation. He has facilitated discussions amongst First Nation communities seeking to engage with Ontario’s energy sector.
John’s ability to speak to diverse audiences allows him to transition with ease, from corporate boardrooms to government offices to addressing local interest groups and small businesses. By utilizing his experience and knowledge to analyze client needs and the needs of the market place he has a track record of designing and delivering customized solutions.
Ontario’s Chief Energy Conservation Office selected John as the architect of the initial round of consumer and small business marketing initiatives aimed at developing and fostering a culture of conservation in Ontario. As Executive Vice-President of a mid-sized electric utility, John crafted that utility’s entrance into the highly competitive telecommunications market. John also has a decade of experience managing customer service and developing successful marketing strategies including rebranding a utility in anticipation of market deregulation. John began his career in the energy sector at Ontario Hydro where he developed and marketed home energy audits, training programs, and participated in technical review and analysis of energy saving technologies.
John was raised in Thunder Bay and has worked extensively in the energy sector in both northern and southern Ontario. He holds degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.
